History Lesson

The Tang/Tong Clan  originated in a place called Tang in present-day Shanxi province. The legendary Yellow Emperor Huang Di (2697–2595 BC) granted this region to his son Dan Zhu.  His descendants eventually adopted it as their surname.  Today Tang/Tong is the 10th most common surname in China.
